"Cane" originated from a TNR situation so has naturally loved the outdoors since birth. His favorite pastime is watching the cardinals from a safe distance in the summer and curling up next to the furnace in the winter. (Cane is the larger one on top.)
"Shade" came from a feral colony and previously had a very hard life. He has become fairly domesticated over time. He is not aggressive or territorial, and has a very gentle, soft demeanor about him. He gets along well with a variety of cats and has never tried to vie for the alpha male position. He loves to be outside unless it is very cold and, like the rest of us, likes to come in where it is warm during that time of year.

"Peedy" was found as a small kitten with her feral Mother living in the Sunken Gardens during renovation several years ago. She was not adopted immediately because of her fear of humans. Gradually, over time, the fear subsided and now Peedy is unstoppable. Even as an adult she is extraordinarily playful, running full out and jumping on and climbing trees like a frisky kitten. She loves the great outdoors so an indoor-outdoor home for Peedy would be an absolute "must."

"Loveball" was found by one of our volunteers while picking up trash in a dry creek bed near an area where we had been doing TNR. Evidently he became separated from Mom or Mom had been killed, as this little guy was all alone and crying his little head off. Loveball was accepted by one of our surrogate Moms and grew up with three other "unrelated" siblings. He is a gregarious explorer and like his name implies, he is nothing but one little ball of love!

"Bailey" is "Hayley's" brother. He will need just the right person to give him the unconditional love he craves. Longing for his own family, he would make a wonderful addition and give you hours and hours of joy each day. His personality is loving and devoted. Born into a litter of four, "Hayley's" Mommy came from one of our TNR sites. The four kittens suffered from an acute upper-respiratory at a very early age and even though they are healthy now the disease attacked their developing neurological system. Hayley and her brother both have a little difficulty sometimes when they are walking, but other than that they are completely normal and just as sweet and loving as they come! It would take a very special person but If Hayley and Bailey could remain together they would be forever grateful. It would be nice for them but definitely not a prerequisite for adoption!

"Princess Obie" has been forced to endure some real hardship in her short little life. Falling into the hands of a collector, when she was rescued she had an acute upper respiratory infection along with severe malnutrition. Five months later you would not believe it is the same cat
Obie is what you might consider the 'perfect cat.' She adores playing outside but never goes far. Just like a puppy, she comes when she is called, is polite at the food tray and allows those who are hungrier to go first. She loves to sleep coiled in your lap while you work away at the computer. Although those terrifying days are over for her, I'm sure she will never forget them. Please help her have the life she deserves by giving "Princess Obie" a furever home with lots and lots of love!

"Pumpkin" has one of those personalities that come along once in a lifetime. The official "greeter" since he's been at the sanctuary, he loves everyone and everything and will absolutely steal your heart in the first ten minutes. Pumpkin can blend into any situation and will be eternally contented as long as he is allowed to come and go as he pleases. He is very outdoor savvy and loves to visit everyone on the block. He would make a great addition to any home.

This handsome guy needs a place to go immediately. He was rescued by a kind soul this past December - found in theater parking lot in Bellevue. He is in a temporary housing situation that must find a place for him asap. The current temporary home has a rescued cat who will not accept him and has become very aggressive with him. They have to be separated, so he is alone 23 hours a day. Both cats and the current caretake are miserable under the current situation. Handsome guy has no tail. The vet believes it was amputated at some time, so although he looks like a manx, he is a tabby who likely had a tail injury at one time. He's a sweet, friendly, neutered male, approximate 6 years old and desperate for a place to go. Permanent home or foster care will do - the current caretaker must get him out.

Giselle is a beautiful, young Chihuahua with a mind of her own.
Deemed "unadoptable" by the Shelter she was taken to as a stray, her fearful nature relegated her to a solitary cage in the back room. After three weeks, the decision was made to either euthanize or turn her over to a rescue. ARS was there to give her the second chance she so desperately needed. Giselle has some of the longest, most graceful legs on a Chihuahua we have ever seen. She runs like the wind so must keep a close eye on her. She will prefer a more sedate and mature home.
"Seger" is a good example of a family member
being dumped because the owner refuses to make the necessary adjustments as they would for a child. They claim he is "too big" for their liking and their other dog is jealous of him. Rather than implementing some obedience training they have decided to get rid of him. Seger has a fantastic disposition and is wonderful with children and other animals both.
