The Beginning

Animal Rescue Society, Inc. (ARS) has been rescuing animals of all
species since 1973. Back then it was a distant "dream" of animal lovers
that one day animals would be afforded the same rights as humans. That
is, they would have the "right" to live their life out without human
interference.

The Mission

ARS is a Non-Profit Corporation that provides intervention on behalf of
animals in distressed situations, as a result of physical or psychological
abuse and/or ignorance; animals in need of temporary or permanent
housing, primarily for, but not limited to, companion animals whose
owners can no longer provide for them; animals exhibiting personality
problems where behavior modification is indicated; animals exhibiting
nutritional problems where corrective measures are called for; animals in
need of altering so as not to contribute to the problem of overpopulation.

Public education emphasizing the innate rights of said animals to live
their lives in a fashion which is natural for that species without the
encumbrance of human exploitation and frivolity.
